Miguel Locos Grill & Cantina Opens in Cabo!

Located at KM 0, on the town square, on the Eastern side of the square, Miguel Locos is a gem of a place. Great atmosphere, unique food and drink and service that will bring you back for more.

Chef Cristian Omar Visaiz Garzon has created a wide range of secret recipes that will excite even the most jaded palate. Tangy rice, mouth watering burritos and a super soup all from this talented chef. The menu is loading with new culinary experiences. Lets talk about the burritos. With the secret ingredients of blue cheese and sourkraut, all of the house rolled delights cannot be underestimated. They are killer.

This fine restaurant with the relaxed vibe of Cabo, uses southern Bajas ingredients like cactus, sugar and apple vinegar for their fruit sour salsa. Very unique. Their use of Chile de Arbol in their red salsas and in the lingering final touch of their Charro soup. You’ll want more.

The Crazy Miguels and Josefina invite you to experience Cabo, with great culinary choices and sports. A sports bar feel, will expand into pool tables and more. Downstairs, your favorite music and offroad videos. It’s your new favorite hangout spot in Cabo San Lucas at KM. 0. Yes! The real original kilometer 0! From the days of the early roads into town, there are stories to tell and friends to entertain.

On Miguel Hidalgo Street, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

NEW! Baja Highway 1 Report

NEW! HIGHWAY 1 ROAD REPORT

We just finished driving the peninsula on a Baja 1000 prerun. We had no trouble going south to Guerrero Negro. However 50-60 miles south of G.N. a vado approximately 200ft wide had 3 feet of water. It didn’t look like the water was running, I think it formed a lake, so the water will be there for some time. The line to cross the vado was 2-3 miles long in both directions, we waited 1 1/2 hrs for our turn, in the one way traffic.

All the way to LB some vados had either water or sand or debris. The vados south of Santa Rosalia were the most treacherous. As you pick up speed on the flat land you approach a vado and you see rough terrain but you can’t stop. Be careful. Our truck and trailer were air borne for at least 25 feet. Slow DOWN. South of La Paz 1-2 miles south of the last Pemex rough terrain.

Tropical Storm Paul sprinkes on Baja

Monday Report: Tropical Storm Paul has sprinkled Southern Baja with very light rain in extreme southern Baja overnight. The Baja Weather Service has issued a Tropical Storm Watch for La Paz south. “The Baja Weather Service considers Paul worthy of watching, but the storm has begun weaken and move rapidly to the northeast, thus missing landfall and the greater effects of the storm. Paul will provide rain and winds, but will not produce the damage John did earlier in the Hurricane season.”

Tuesday Report: The streets of Cabo and La Paz were wet with what was a brief but heavy downpours late last night. So, the Baja Weather Service reports “because of the unstable atmospheric conditions produced by Tropical Storm Paul, brief and possibly heavy showers are possible for the next few days in the watch area, south of La Paz”. “Rain and light winds are expected in the watch area for the next few days.” Otherwise, the Baja Safari Club has not received any reports of problems due to the storm, except a full airport at San Jose of norte americanos bailing on their vacations.

Wednesday Report: Paul passed south of Los Cabos last night and this morning with an impressive explosion of orographic convection. The mountains south of La Paz was not the place to be overnight, with at least five inches of rain at altitude. In town, they had a couple inches of rain. Paul is now south east of San Jose del Cabo moving quickly to the northeast. The show is over.

Thursday Report: Hwy 1 was closed briefly in Baja South. Heavy rains not associated with Paul were responsible. Its reopened.
